The Repulse Bay

Had a lovely day out with Martin today. We went to the Christmas Fair at the Repulse Bay, which was our first home in HK, when we arrived 8 years ago.

This building (with the big hole in the middle) is the Repulse Bay Apartments. We lived on the 32nd floor in a beautiful duplex and could have chosen to live here, but we really wanted to be in a more open environment which Discovery Bay offered.

The design of the building is incorporating feng shui as the hole allows the dragon to fly freely through the building. It is a very auspicious design in Chinese tradition. The Repulse Bay is a very desirable place to live for expats, and is managed and owned by the Peninsula group, a lot of Martin's colleagues live here. We're glad we opted for DB!

The fair was just okay, but still glad we went out there, as Martin treated us to one of our favourite restaurants in HK, Spices! Also run by the Pen.

Rest of the day has been good and a bit of a scorcher actually. I was surprised at how hot it actually was. And then a terrific thunderstorm to cool it all down again! Nice.

Hope you have all had a restful weekend.
