Really lovely day today. M and I slept far later than we’d planned, so we decided just to make a lazy morning of it and have a long breakfast too. I watched a bit of breakfast TV, M chopped some firewood for later, then we had one last cup of coffee before M drove us out to Banchory to see A and F. We picked them both up and took them to Raemoir Garden centre (F recognises the building and was mumbling “lunch… lunch” to himself as we arrived – too cute) for some food. There’s a nice area for F to play in and he spent a good while trying to microwave a plastic giraffe while the adults sorted themselves out, then had a good catch-up over a salad then cake (I think they balance each other out)…

On our way home, F was naming vehicles (tractor, dig-dig) so we decided to take him on a walk to the River Dee to tire him out. A has just put him in a big-boy bed and it’s better for him to be totally pooped before she puts him down, otherwise he just gets himself up again! The river was looking lovely in the sun, and I got a few photos of the dogs jumping in for sticks, and F splashing round in his crocodile wellies. I’m quite aware of trying to take lots of photos at the moment for my photography class – all film of course, and to be viewed by the whole class, so I feel under a bit of pressure to make sure they’re good. F is a perfect subject, though!

We discovered lots of sweet blackberries on our way back, but F had a sour one last week and point-blank refused to try another today – he has a good memory! It ended up with only A and I being blackberry-stained :o) F went straight to bed when we got back, and M and I headed home again. We watched a bit of TV in front of the fire before bed… Another ace weekend.
