A view from Jeanneb

Buses

A different day again today, blue skies and positively balmy at 10 degrees C.

We went back to the markets and as we got to the end we heard the one o'clock gun so that seemed a good time for a Gluhwein and it,was warm enough to sit and drink it beneath the Scott Monument.

We then walked through Princes Street gardens, where they have a Christmas Tree maze at the moment as part of the Edinburgh Christmas events, and on to the National Gallery.

This is the view from outside the gallery across the gardens to the North Bridge. I liked the buses crossing here against the skyline and the coloured buses in the foreground are mainly open topped tourist buses or airport buses. (There is no sign of the trams in operation though the tramlines seem to be in place?)

We have rearranged our bags after more shopping and are now about to leave for the station. Feels like we have had Christmas already and we still have a month to go, we have certainly eaten, drunk and spent enough! Goodbye Edinburgh till the next time.
