Bourne Hill, at Night...

These are the offices of Wiltshire Council, in Salisbury. Or at least the new part at the rear of the old façade.

It's an intriguing and interesting construction which I have photographed a few times now. It lends itself to the superwide angle as those verticals sweep upward. The almost white line of silver birches planted at is a geometric gem too and here I have tried to incorporate them into the composition. To see in LARGE

By a fluke of planning law, the "Secret Garden" that I took this from has full public access. At all times, too. So it's not locked, even at midnight! This came about as the Council bulldozed through all the planning laws to allow themselves the right to build this controversial and very costly build. It was quite the scandal, at the time and actually led to the end of overall Tory majority, in the City. Anyways, they got round the legal defence that they were destroying a public area by keeping this garden open. Not many people know this. I use it to my advantage!

I have digressed. The original colour looked quite odd, with various shades of green yellow and brown - and muddy white. A lot of leaves still around. It was destined to be black and white but it has had quite a bit of selective dodging/burning and contrast etc. It was also too tall and so a slight crop at the top actually made the composition more powerful.

Lens is Nikkor 10-24mm.
