Dreaming Spire

More crisp against the cold December sky in large ("L").

The sky was irresistible... I waited for a cyclist to pass it, but none flew by.
This is the spire of the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin; it stands at one end of Radcliffe Square, with the Radcliffe Camera opposite it, and the Bodleian Library on the opposite side (beyond the Rad. Cam.).

It is a rather striking spire, and is one of the skyline silhouettes that makes Oxford famous as "the city of dreaming spires". I've a view of the skyline that I'm planning to blip, but am currently waiting for a (construction) crane to come down... Someone will, inevitably, wrap one of the spires in scaffolding just as the crane comes down, but I hold out hope for a clear view some time in the next couple of years.

p.s. Eeee, thank you for sending yesterday's adorable spider to the Spotlight!
