Next Thursday Luke will be singing in a NYCoS concert. Rehearsals are usually in a local primary school but this year, the concert is in a new venue, St Teresa's church, Dumfries and tonight's practice was held there. Here are the Training Choir rehearsing. Someone said it was like 'singing in the bath', referring, I think, to the acoustics, not the temperature of the church, which was not warm. Today's weather has been scarily windy, huge trees swaying and gusts battering the house.

Thanks to all those who sent good wishes for my friend yesterday. She is hoping to be operated on today. She and her husband had planned a night out this evening - a lovely concert in Glasgow with a meal and a night at a hotel. They gave us the tickets and we turned up at the station hoping to travel to Glasgow but there are still no trains going anywhere. What a shame.
