As promised in yesterday's Poplars at night Blip - Big thanks for all the hearts and stars and for getting it to the no 2 slot in the Spotlights - a more normal Blip - and one which actually includes real, live human beings!! And I did hint at doing something a little more Christmassy, too.

Tim's Top Tip : So that the highlights didn't burn out, I switched from the usual 'Matrix metering' to 'Centre weighted' metering. This is better when your subject is in the middle, especially when surrounded by darker areas, as here. Matrix metering takes in the whole of the image and would have overexposed. The biggest danger here is to forget to turn it back to its default setting afterward.
