Windy

9.0C starting reasonably bright but clouding over through the day. Windy. Gales due overnight.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk just after lunch. We went up by the church and then down the field with the bridle path to the shore. The tide was almost at its highest point. No rocks to be seen, plenty of foamy waves, and the sea within a yard or two of the small dunes. Along at the creel rack the sea was three or four yards short of running beneath it.

The 120 metre long tanker Amarant was clearly making for Dundee at speed. I could see its bow rising and falling as it made its way towards the entrance to the Tay estuary. You can see the Fife coastline beyond it in the blip. I checked on AIS and it was berthed at Dundee not long after we saw it. I'm sure they'll be glad to be tied up tonight. Another storm is due. It will be at its worst in the West and out on the islands where I hope everyone manages to stay safe and warm.
