messy, dusty, noisy and worth it!

The last of the tile that was in the living room has been removed -whoo hoo!

Earl and his wife Sophie did a fantastic job working together on this difficult job-see above! They also worked together to remove our old cabinets. Cory has also been here rewiring and setting up new electric boxes etc, for the past two days; his rough-in should be finished tomorrow. The plumber comes tomorrow to rough-in as well! We are not changing anything plumbing-wise, but we are adding a disposal. Yes, a new sink & faucet, but it should be pretty easy. Fred says the new floor tile arrives on Monday. . . and they will take a short break for Christmas!

It's been a little bit funny having these 2 rooms being torn up, but not as bad as we expected. The workers are such nice people. They are hard workers, they clean up after themselves and ask me questions -like is this switch here okay?
It makes it much more palatable if the contractors working in your house all the time are good people! Our "garage kitchen" is working out just fine and we are making meals pretty much like normal. Steven has me using sturdy paper plates about half the time for less dishwashing in the utility sink, it's fine. It was a bit noisy today with that machine you see Earl using above . . . but that did not last long. I think the noisiest part is over. The dust is not great, but it is not terrible. With the wall cut open to join the two rooms I can really visualize what it will be like and I like what I see!

love to all . . . and to all a goodnight!
