Tea for Two by the Tree

Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-laah!

Mum & me enjoyed a fantastic day in London. We had a really nice time & wow did we walk our socks off! With my third Friday off in a row (I am so getting used to this), we made for Hyde Park & Winter Wonderland. We had a stroll & joined the herds of people filtering into the festive fair. It wasn't long before we got into the seasonal spirit ourselves, & were soon supping warming mulled wine.

Via the Serpentine & the flocks of birds there, we marched up the road to Knightsbridge, to celebrate, albeit belated, a special occasion. I promised to take Ma for afternoon tea at Harrods, & so that is what we did. We had prime position in their Georgian Restaurant & were treated to a fine selection of petite sandwiches, scones & cakes, washed down with lashings of tea & a glass of bubbly - it was all very complimentary. We even shared the restaurant with England footballer Jermain Defoe, who was there eating with his family.

More than contently stuffed, we patrolled the corridors & shop floors of Harrods like lost sheep - it is just so big & there is so much stuff. We did happen to go via the animal department, which was sublime & ridiculous in equal measure. To our amazement, there was a viewing window, much like in a zoo, into a dog grooming room. We got Ozzie some Harrods Christmas goodies too, he's going to look swish in his new collar & lead.

We finally emerged back on to Knightsbridge, by which time the sun had set & the glittering lights of London had come to life. The outside of Harrods was completely covered, looking beautiful & twinkling. Not wanting to end the party yet, we made a bee line for Harvey Nicholls (we know how to shop!), going all the way to the food floor on five for a browse & then a much needed pit stop at the bar for.. yes you guessed it, more champers!

We finished off the eve by wandering back over to Winter Wonderland, only this time it was bustling & bright. We did the big circuit of the park, checking out all the incredibly fair rides, some high & quite scary looking, we enjoyed a few more drinkies at a couple of the German & Austrian bars, & I chowed down a delicious moose burger & Ma, a barbeque sausage & potato mix. At one of the bars, I swear I even saw one of the candidates from a former Apprentice series, the very beautiful & talented Liz Locke. We were all big fans at Uni, I can tell you!

Thank you for a fun day Ma & what a fabulous way to see in my 600th!
