After the rain

We have had quite a bit of rain and the River Mole that flows through Cobham has flooded the surrounding low lying fields. Somebody told me that all the excess rain water from the Gatwick Airport runways drains into this river which is why it rises so suddenly after it rains. In this image the water behind the tree is not a lake but some poor farmer's flooded fields. You can see more high water levels here.

Gavin is now off work until the New Year so it will be good to have him home to help with the final preparations for Christmas - he is facing the Waitrose crowds tomorrow, yippee! Christmas day will be busy as I am cooking a full Christmas dinner and then in the evening packing up as we leave to go skiing on Boxing Day.
