Nativity

For all the majesty, and imposing, dynamic beauty of Tewkesbury Abbey, the one window that you might possibly miss is this! Small in comparison to the massive west window next to it and seen more clearly illuminated from the outside and pertinent to the time of year - the nativity.

The three kings, bearing gold, frankincense and myrrh all at the stable. You really can't see it clearly from the inside as there is a rather large statue of the Angle Gabriel obscuring the view! Standing outside in the cold and rain it did look better ? :)) had to be blipped though!

AND here we have the confession ... sharp intake of breath......

Sauntered into the Abbey grounds, sauntered then into the porch, sauntered then into the abbey, very mindful of the notices........'Please turn your mobile off'.....'These are our clergy'......'Our service times'!! In fact, masses of notices and it was dropping dark and ......I was fighting with camera equipment. Got through the door started taking a few shots to the benevolent stares of a few visitors, turned round and saw a small notice, 'Please pay for your camera pass at the shop'. Well I'd no money on me at all, nothing even in the car, I'd already taken some shots and there was no-one around. The guilt trip then kicked in....God's house, (you are looking at a convent girl here) if the CCTV didn't know then he would! However no thunderbolt to strike me down so , hey, just continued. Obviously HE and I are going to have a chat later.
