I think Mice are rather nice

Theses are my lovely choir mice which again came from a craft fair many years ago and are definitely one of the decorations I look forward to unwrapping.

Carols were sung in Europe thousands of years ago but these were mainly Pagan songs sung at the Winter solstice often sung as people danced around stone circles. In fact the word carol means dance or song of praise or joy.Carols used to be written for all the four seasons but the tradition of singing them at Christmas still remains.

I enjoyed watching Top Of The Pops yesterday and they played some new Christmas songs released this year including this one by Erasure. Steeleyes pan another great band from the 60/70's also covered it but I quite like this new version.

Todays Yule Lad is Meat Hook . He was mad about meat. He would lower a stick down the chimney and grab any pieces of lamb that were either hanging in a pot. Smoked lamb was a tradition dish served in Iceland on St Thorlak's day .

Just been to see the second part of the Hobbit , really good especially the dragon , cant wait to see the next one ! Had a Burger King after, we know how to live it up.
