'Cicada'

Dylan found this dead Cicada lying on the edge of a footpath as we walked the streets of Warrandyte on the way home from lunch today. He brought it home to add to our other collection of dead bugs, feathers, bones and other treasures.

Lunch today with my Mum's side of the family and my cousins at the Croydon Hotel. It was good to catch up as we seem to only see each other at Christmas these days and maybe a couple of other times during the year if we're lucky.

We stopped to pick up some lemon tarts for afternoon tea from the Warrandyte bakery, but it had closed already, so we treated ourselves to a tub of Ben & Jerry's Couch Potato ice cream and sat just beside the playground and shared a small tub around each with our own plastic spoons.

Came home and watched the last hour of the Boxing Day test match. They had a record crowd at the MCG today and the weather this afternoon was perfect for it.

One more Christmas catch up for us tomorrow with my Dad's side of the family then we're done.
