Flowering lavender

One of the only things in my front garden which are in any way successful are the beds of lavender I have planted near the door. The grand plan to do this because of the fragrance has turned out to be a good one. Even accidentally brushing against the plants is enough to release a heavenly scent which cheers up even the darkest moments.

This morning was largely spent recovering from yesterday's Grand Prix get-together, and I only managed to get very little productive work done before it was time to down tools and get stuck into coverage of His Steveness doing the keynote at WWDC in San Francisco. Some of the new features to come with OS X 10.5 Leopard look good (especially the demise of Brushed Metal and the arrival of the new Desktop and Finder). The redesigned Apple web site is pretty nifty too, and I spent far too much time checking that out.

Now it's time to go out and brush against that gorgeous lavender again.
