Fruticose lichen in late sun

This tiny thicket of branching lichen is Usnea subfloridana. It is not particularly scarce, but it used to be more difficult to find in my area due to its high sensitivity to sulphur dioxide pollution. Cleaner air over the last couple of decades mean this, and some much rarer, lichens are being recorded more frequently. It looked rather dramatic in the low, late afternoon sun on my walk today.
