free gift with purchase?

In the pet shop today, buying toys for my 'nieces' Hillary (cat) and Penny (dog) and 'nephew' Ralph (dog).

An orphaned kitten who was free-ranging across the shop counter took a fancy to the paper bag and crawled inside... I was awfully tempted to take the kitten home with me. 'Gift with purchase'? I swear cats can spot a sucker from a mile off.
