Unexpectedly in the Isle of Wight

An early start saw Fred and I on a train to Dorset. We missed our connecting train to the moors and we had a moment in Southampton wondering what on earth we were to do now. Fred decided on a course of action - a ferry to the Isle of Wight. Two bus journeys, one ferry ride and a bacon sandwich later, we were walking along the Tennyson Way and gazing across the cliffs to the Channel. We visited the the Needles and read about rocket testing. Just then, the Waverley sailed past.

A fantastic day - sometimes the best things are the unexpected things!
