You know it's autumn when...

the remnants of beech nuts come tumbling down on your head because the squirrel is having a feast.

This is one of out back garden squirrels, which we see rarely now because of the predator cat from next door. She killed five last year.

A stay-at-home day today, just relaxing and getting stuff done. I spent a wee while looking at hotels in Venice for an October weekend with mum. It's very exciting, but there's so much choice. I've emailed a good candidate - I hope they have a space for us.
