Red engine

Gill's grandfather on her mother's side taught cabinet making. We have quite a few items of furniture he made. When she was young, not long before he died, he made her this wooden railway engine that was robust enough to handle a second generation of children. It had been in the loft for years but we brought it down a while back and now it sits in our kitchen atop a chest of drawers.

We took George back to Southampton and called in Hamble for a nice pub lunch with Rob and Vicky. The journey back was dismal and the whole day left me in no mood for blipping. It's been great seeing George over Christmas. He's grown up so much in the past six months and it's nice to have him around, even if he does give me a hard time. I guess I deserve it.
