Waxing Crescent 27.2%

And when it gets to a 'half moon', it'll become Waxing Gibbous.

Gibbous is much more interesting than Crescent, I think. It sounds like part of the name of an aristocrat.

And may I introduce to you... Sir Henry Michael Gibbous! Invented the plastic bits on the end of shoelaces don't you know! (He didn't.... It was Harvey Kennedy and they're called Aglets...)

Once the moon is full and starts to get darker, it becomes 'Waning Gibbous', and then when it passes the halfway nark again, it becomes 'Waning Crescent'.

Bet you didn't expect to learn that when you clicked the thumbnail did you!

And if you manage to slip the word 'Aglet' or 'Gibbous' into a conversation tomorrow, I want to hear about it :o)

Thanks for the love for the Blip bench yesterday - really made my day (and it was a tough day...)
