2014 - Over In A Flash

Throwing in The Towel

As airing cupboards go, I think ours is pretty tidy. Now you may think that these towels are just folded neatly and put away carefully - but the truth is that there's far more too it than that. Our airing cupboard is an art form.

All the towels are folded according to the method advocated by Anthea Turner on daytime television - as observed by my husband when he was at a loose end one day. You may be able to see that all the folded edges face to the front.

The towels are 'filed' according to size, and where they're used in the house. On the lower shelf are all the hand towels. The ones in the pile on the right are those used in the downstairs loo and kitchen ( the black ones are for the kitchen). On the left of the lower shelf are the hand towels for use in the upstairs bathrooms - the bright one for the main bathroom and the dark beige for the ensuite. At the bottom of the pile on the left are several white hand towels for purposes as yet undefined. eg visits from the doctor or the midwife. The upper shelf houses all the bath towels. Simple.

Are we organised - or just bloody sad?
