Wavy Wood*

Today was a day of putting our fingers in the dike, so to speak. The bathroom that the three of us are sharing smelled bad so we had to hold our noses when we took showers before David arrived and fixed the problem by putting in a trap between the shower and the septic tank!

Not only are the stones for two walls in the bathroom back ordered until the end of Feb, but David wasn't sure when the tile for the walls, which was supposed to be installed tomorrow, would arrive, and the stone countertop for the vanity, which we ordered in October, was discontinued as of Jan 1st and we can't get it. Rick and I raced off to the stone place to choose another one. While there, a woman came running out with a replacement thermostat for us to take back to David who had phoned to say that the one they sent didn't work.

David was more put out than we were by these developments, because he had carefully organized everything to a tight schedule which was now in a shambles. It would seem that everybody goes home for two weeks over the holidays and nothing gets done, so if there is a project beginning in January, it is bound to have screw-ups and delays when they get back to reality.

At least the one working bathroom doesn't smell anymore. David always does his part.
