Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Jimi Hendrix Experience - The Wind Cries Mary (recorded 11 January 1967, De Lane Lea Studios, London)
On this day in 1967, Jimi Hendrix wrote this song following a row with his girlfriend, Kathy Mary Etchingham, in their home at 34 Montagu Square, and recorded it the next day. She had met Jimi Hendrix in the Scotch of St James nightclub on the day of his arrival in London in September 1966. She and Angela King were resident DJ's at the Cromwellian Club in Kensington and at the Scotch of St James. She said after the song was released, "All the incidents in it were what happened: I smashed plates on the floor, he swept them up. He locked me in the bathroom for absolutely ages and wouldn't let me out. He went out and left me locked in the bloody bathroom."
