Lakeland Peaks

Today's the day .......................... to compare and contrast

So glorious today after what seems like eons of gloom and rain.

Lots of people were out walking - making the most of the bright sunshine - and we were no exception. From Scout Scar, you could see a full 360° of hills and dales. It was quite breath-taking. This is the view north westwards with Crinkle Crags on the left, followed by Bowfell and the Langdales - and in the far distance the snowy tops of Scafell and Green Gable.

It won't long now before hopefully we'll have the chance to see some of the peaks of New Zealand which I'm sure are going to be magnificent. But, in the meantime, our own local ones of the Lake District were looking pretty good today ....................
