Gateway Vineyard

This morning I visited the weekly Farmers’ Market at the A&P Showgrounds. A good friend, G, and I met up for coffee. The Farmers’ Market is a great meeting place for folk on a Sunday morning. I had a wonderful time today catching up with lots of friends I have not seen for a while. After a good hour or so of socializing I drove up to the Taylor Dam for some quick “grab-shots”, hopefully for a blip. The light at the Dam could have been better, it was getting late in the morning and we were enjoying a very bright day. I stopped at the top of the rise after leaving the Dam area and captured this image looking down and across the Gateway Vineyard towards Meadowbank Station. You can see some of the station buildings amongst the trees on the other side of the Taylor River. The Upper Taylor River tracks skirt the Gateway Vineyard and this area is a favourite walking place for people and their dogs. The tracks are also excellent for mountain bikers.
The dogs got a double treat this afternoon when Keith took them out for another walk along a different part of the river.
Although the day started up with a light nor-westerly breeze that soon changed after lunch with much stronger winds blowing. The wind-song charms just outside our house are making a very tuneful noise as I write and there has been a very nice sunset this evening.
