Tweeddale Court

This is Tweeddale Court off the royal Mile, and until 1973 was the home of Oliver and Boyd the medical and educational publishers, but was built as a mansion for Dame Margaret Kerr, the daughter of the 1st Duke of Lothian.

I know this because when I was very young, my father worked here. I remember once being taken by him to meet his colleagues. I was probably about 3, and in his care for some reason, and I remember being surprised and taken aback to see someone stirring their tea with a fork. I couldn't wait to tell my mother about this lapse in propriety when I got home.
