Sunshine on the Balmoral

A slow meander in strangely mild and sunny weather through the old town to meet up with Tiggy for coffee this morning, leaving His Lordship to browse holiday brochures.
Being a man who likes organisation and schedules, he is making a spread sheet for our possible vacations during the year.
So far, all we have pencilled in is ten days in Orkney, which leaves about another 48 weeks.
I would like to travel up through the Hebrides from Barra to Stornoway and on the advice of Peter May, this should be done before the special breed of blood sucking Hebridean midges get their act together in June, and possibly remembering the wind, we should forget the bikes.

Because of a glowing report from another friend, there is the possibility of a train journey in India to be considered, although this might mean carrying a cache of Imodium tablets and enduring a battery of painful and possible expensive inoculations. Meanwhile I have to read the literature and get enthusiastic.
