Paris Day #3

Slightly disjointed day today which started off with us struggling to find somewhere for lunch due to all eateries in a 20 mile radius of the hotel being packed to the rafters! The Parisian set do like to sit and linger in their cafes and bistros on a Saturday afternoon! We were marginally more successful in finding somewhere for our mid-afternoon cake-stop - the remnants of which are shown above.

Then we went in search of a bookshop that no longer existed, followed by a trip to the European Museum of Photography, which for once, didn’t have much in it that floated our respective boats. I also think I am starting to go cold turkey from not having had a decent cup of tea for three days!

However, some firsts today..

- I sampled my first Parisian macaroons.. very nice and more substantial than you might imagine.

- I saw policemen on roller blades.. couldn't help thinking that a baddie would only need to find some stairs to thwart the pursuit of a roller-blading officer of the law?

- I saw a shop window display consisting of rows of rats (presumably not real ones) dangling with their heads in snares. Was so horrified I couldn’t even tell you what the shop was selling.

..all part of the rich tapestry of Parisian life!
