Dublin Shooter

I'm only uploading this on the 21st, and I'm more than a little bit hazy about the day and how I came to be back in the 3fe coffee shop/café. The uploading delay is because this shot needed a bit of post-processing which I didn't have time for on the day and have only got back to now.

I do remember that it was a bit of happenstance that saw me on Lower Grand Canal Street (had I been to the bank?). I'd promised myself after my first visit that I'd stop off at this rather special place again, and being in the neighbourhood was as good an excuse as any other to park and re-visit. Sadly, I don't remember what coffee I had, though I do remember that it was rather nice. What I do remember is having a rather good time with the camera. This pair in particular caught my eye. The guy took his eye off his MacBook screen to reach for his coffee cup now and again, but the girl was totally engrossed in whatever she was doing. This was the pick of a series that I shot off using the X100's 'sneak' mode.

In other news, Carl went back to college today after the Christmas break and faced right into a week of exams. He seemed happy with how today's went. He has a day's break, does his final end-of-semester exam next Monday and then has two weeks of a break before returning to lectures and studies. I am so pleased that I don't have to go through the after-Christmas routine like when I was working. It was always a difficult time, especially since we got paid earlier than usual in December and then had to face into a belt-tightening January as a result. Did I feel guilty being out and about while Carl was tested? Yes, a bit. Only a bit, though.
