Generation Gap

One Street: Market Square, Shipley #99

You can tell that Shipley is a little behind the times because its CCTV cameras are a cross between a twin lens reflex and a bellows camera! Look closely.

So what is that about? I've never really noticed it before but who designs these signs and symbols? In what world are they living? It's like so many applications that still use a symbol of a floppy disk to signify saving a document. There is a whole new generation that has not even seen or possibly heard of a floppy disk. Once ubiquitous in the personal computer world as just about the only way of backing up and moving data about, they held a grand total of 1.44Mb of data. Just this one black and white image would be too big to fit! How times have moved on ... except in that bizarre world of symbols!

Thanks once again for all the love for yesterday's White Dawn. You are being way too kind to me. And now I have to run again because we have a bit of a crisis at work. It looks like one of our servers is under attack!
