Crail Bay, Pelorus Sound.

Taken from the beach in front of friends house on the shores of Crail Bay.
The mussel harvester is on the right, and there is a barge on the left that our friends use for working on their own mussel farms. You can just make out the fish cages, that were used for growing salmon in at one stage, but not sure what is happening now.
Another evening out. We went by car for about 20 minutes, then G picked us up in their boat. Then on around the bays and got another couple, before going to G's for dinner.
Been about 15 years since I was there last, and their daughter J, has been very busy with the garden, building pathways and rock walls. Masses of plantings of trees, shrubs and flowers make this place an little paradise. The vegetable garden is in a very sheltered place not far from the house. Their house is boat access only, and while attending the local school at Waitaria Bay, the 2 daughters traveled by boat to Manaroa, then by the school bus. There weren't very many days that they didn't go due to the weather.
