Brief interlude . .

A quick burst of sunshine on an otherwise dull and very windy day. Absolutely wild today, more gales forecast too - and snow - oh, joy!

After being closed all January, the craft shop reopens next Monday morning so this week it is all hands to the pump as we paint, varnish, clean and restock in readiness for the hordes of customers! Actually February is really quiet so we only open in the mornings for a couple of hours and it is mostly local folk, looking for presents, who come in.

Mike's day off so this afternoon we went into town to buy some stone chippings for the new path in the front garden. Even though we timed it for low water, there was still a fair amount of waves and spray coming over the barriers. Over the past few days the police have been closing them for hours either side of high water and then escorting cars across. It's very wild out there!
