Blipper blipped ...

... so to speak. Scribbler by Rollie, with lemon paperweight for the challenge.

Sour is today's DDW challenge.

I was lightly editing (all it needed) the last chapters of my novel—the part my new writing has to link up with. Quite happy with what I found. Engrossed in my reading, I hardly noticed the man at a nearby table. Then I realized he was drawing. At last I realized he was probably drawing me. When I left, I walked behind him, curious to see what he'd done, whereupon he lifted his sketchbook to show me.

It's quite a good likeness except that—trust me—I'm really not bald. We talked about his pens (of course) and creativity. He seemed pleased that I approved of his work. I walked out the door thinking, Too bad I can't get a xerox of that drawing. Then, doh, I realized I could photograph it so I went back, whereupon Rollie tore it from his sketchpad and handed it to me.

This was an altogether delightful exchange, except that, doh, I should have blipped him! I think the challenge topic got in my way. I picked up some groceries and then returned to the cafe, but he had left. The only sour note in a happy day.
