Golden Glow

Beaming a golden glow at a time when the sun rarely breaks through the clouds - this tiny aconite had to be coaxed a bit to open it's petals.

Sliding down the bank towards a small stream in Overbury churchyard I did get a bit wet as the ground was saturated. Yes, I go to all the best places and NO I didn't fall in, in case you were wondering. There was a beautiful carpet of snowdrops but the aconites really stood out being a cheery bright yellow. Very spirit lifting and giving much needed colour in these dark and grey, miserable days!

In need of inspiration I went to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in Gloucester this afternoon. Gosh there were some stunning images and well worth having a peek at if you get the opportunity!
