South Coast Scribblings

Swish new development

Had a trip into town today to buy presents, card etc for hubby's birthday which is coming up in less than two weeks and Paul also wanted to get some new trainers so we sorted that as well. We were in and out of town in less than 2 hours so that was good. Also got the car cleaned by a firm that works in one of the car parks.

On the way back I realised I had forgotten to take a photo, being a bit distracted by the shopping. Could have got a lovely one of five young men sharing one can of beer on a street corner - maybe not, eh? Anyway, I stopped the car along the sea front and took a few shots of the sea etc., but decided I liked this photo best of the new block of posh flats that has been built next to Marine Gardens. The cranes, diggers and hoarding must have destroyed the ambience in the (slightly boring) gardens that are very popular with the elderly and even have a nice little cafe that does lunches. Apparently, so the board says, 60% of the flats are already reserved - I bet those are the ones that aren't are on the ground floor! If you're going to pay a lot to live along the sea front, you at least want a sea view and no soggy carpets if the sea should overtop the walls...

It's been quite a pleasant sunny day today. The next storm isn't due until Friday or Saturday, and will be a nasty one particularly in the west I gather.
