A time for everything

Afternoon light

Saturday
I spent a grey wet morning helping assemble Christingles for our Christingle service tomorrow evening. I know Christingle services are usually associated with Advent, but they may also be held on or around Epiphany, or in our case our locum Chaplain decided to hold it to celebrate Candlemas, a traditional Christian festival commemorating the ritual purification of Mary forty days after the birth of her son, and the presentation of Jesus in the Temple, also known as the Feast of Lights. I plan to talk more about this tomorrow. Fortunately, by the time Roger and I had finished lunch, the rain had stopped and it seemed to be clearing slightly, so we got out for a walk at Gorges de Franchard. The weather continued to improve, affording us some beautiful late afternoon light as evidenced in this shot.
