For the technique challenge, I tried out the miniature effect on my compact camera, starting with the first D of the day - the army base at Deepcut. However, soon came to the conclusion that I couldn't get into a high enough position for it work. by the time some army officers wandered up to inquire what I was photographing (they were very polite and on-confrontational about it, so no worries), I was ready to give up.

Attempt 2 was at lunchtime when I went down town as the second D. Again, I wasn't very happy with the effect, but this one almost works after enhancing the effect in Snapseed
