MOGUL CHAMPION

My assignment again today is to cover Team Squirrel at the Alternative Olympic Games*. It was quite a thrill to watch Fritz, here, tackle the moguls in the free-style skiing competition. For these games, Fritz surprised the officials by announcing he would be participating bare footed. The biggest surprise of all was when he posted the highest score of all the contestants, winning gold in the event. In an effort that paid off, Fritz has studied super-star Canadian Alex Bilodeau learning from his technique. When the gold medal was awarded under the bright lights of the podium, Fritz gave himself a well-earned pat on the back for an incredible run.

Over at the ice rink, I found the lovely Vanessa who plans an exciting last minute change to her ice dancing short program. After watching Julia, the phenominal 15 year old Russian skater, Vanessa now realizes she must add the ‘vertical-splits-while-spinning’ move to her routine if she has any chance for a medal. Here, during practice, we see Vanessa stretching her leg into a vertical split – you’re almost there, Vanessa! Next she’ll try it in a spin - it’s going to be amazing!
