Nicky and her Nikon

I hate travelling! (but I like getting there...)

We were up early this morning to get to the airport. We decided to take Murdoch to the kennels on the way to the airport, rather than taking him yesterday - as we set off we saw enormous trees that had come crashing down in the storm last night and it was like driving dodgem cars, avoiding the trees that were lying half way across the road. As we approached the kennel there was an enormous tree lying right across the road and blocking it - only about 1 mile from the kennel. My suggestion of Gavin and my strong teenage sons trying to shift it was met with snorts of derision and 'don't be daft' as apparently they weigh a ton (probably literally!) So we had to find an alternative route to the kennel and we were running late. By the time we finally got to the kennel via an alternative route it was 20 minutes later, and now we were at risk of missing out flight (we were late leaving home but that is another story...)

We then had to find an alternative route back to the M25 as now another road was blocked due to an accident involving a fallen tree...we finally got to the airport but when we saw the queues to check in...we realised we were never going to make out flight. Thankfully, our flight was delayed. This is the first time I was pleased to hear that a flight had been delayed - in the end by 1 hour and 15 minutes, and we therefore made the flight.

We arrived in Zurich and found something to eat at the airport and then set off to drive to Klosters. This is the only photo I took today and it is from the car through the window- the forecast said that there had been snow all week in the village so I was surprised to see so little snow down the valley near Zurich. However, there is plenty of snow up on the mountain tops and a big dump of snow is expected tonight. I am now unpacking and trying to think of something to make for supper...
