O is for Orient Hotel Fremantle

Today is my Birthday!! I had early morning phone calls and messages, then opened my cards, our Daughter and Family called in with more hugs and Presents.
Glyn & I drove down to Fremantle for lunch to the "left Bank" Bar and restaurant on the waterfront at Fremantle.
We spent the rest of the day down in Freo. The weather was kind not to hot with plenty of cloud cover. it's been a great day..

We found a couple of blips for the Alphabet Challenge, the "Oldest" public building in W.A the Round House, and the "Orient" Hotel, the best shot was of the Orient not as old as the Round house which was built in the 1800's.

The Orient was built in 1902 completed in 1903, it's not the original building on this site.

Since 1849 the site had been the location of an inn known as "The Commercial" A subsequent refusal to renew the hotel license by the Fremantle Licensing Court saw that building demolished and replaced by this three storey building that now occupies the site. "Orient Hotel"
