Crossing the pond

Youngest son George is swanning off to Antigua today to join Cheeki Rafiki and compete in the RORC Caribbean 600, an ocean sailing race established a few years ago. The experience and boating qualifications he's getting in what some people take as a gap year after university, should set him up well for whatever he seeks to do in future. I drove him to Gatwick and on the way back walked Pippa on Ockham Common that's flanked by a lake.

Blue sky would have been good, some sun would have been good, a bit of context or a mate alongside would have been good too, but there was none of this as a single swan flew overhead allowing a snatched shot. No matter: it will remind me of George and his flight across the pond.
