Corndu at 60!

Another walk up today as my mate Matt was down in Wales for the weekend. Not the best of days for a walk with heavy rain and winds but hey, it’s still better than being sat on your backside watching TV. Lol!

It was tough up there though, we were lucky on the way up as the wind was behind us but as we made the ascent to Corndu it was getting serious. Really serious, a few times we just had to hit the deck to get out of the wind. We didn’t hang around and made our way down towards Penyfan but the walk along the ridge was silly and we abandoned and made our way down to a bacon buttie and a cup of tea.

We met the Mountain Rescue team up there as they took their wind readings and it was registering 60mph on the ridge at Corndu. That’s serious winds and best not to be up there in that weather.

Good to meet up with a good friend again though!
