Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Amazonia

Thurday: Busy. Errands and stuff to do to get ready to be gone tomorrow. Picked up the girls from school and went to MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry), had a snack in the fine cafe, and enjoyed an inspiring exhibit of Urban Sketching --Tatum and I tried sketches out the window. This is not a children’s museum but there is a lot to do and hold their attention. And it’s in a great park ! There is a large section on “Innovation” , by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com. This is fitting as MOHAI is the northern most building of the south Lake Union area we are now calling “Amazonia.” So much new construction there(mostly very dull buildings and art) so 10,000 more people can work in the area, which is causing congestion all over the neighboring neighborhoods (like ours). The girls are running south from the Museum toward Amazonia.

Tomorrow early we are headed to the Gulf Islands. There has been a lot of snow there starting last sunday and we have no idea how things are at our cabin or if our power is back on after at least 4 days off. Or if any trees fell.. Will report tomorrow (maybe) Gotta go to bed now but will put some other photos for family on flickr tomorrow (I hope)....
