A time for everything

Puerto del Carmen

Tuesday
A great day today and I took a lot of photos, so it was hard deciding which one to post!
We spent the day relatively local today, going for a walk in the morning along the coast to the next village of Playa Quemada, and a little way beyond to quite a striking, deeply shelving volcanic beach. We followed the path down to the beach and sat for quite a while, enjoying the sunshine and watching the waves break at one end of the beach where it was stony, and the wet pebbles and rocks were glistening in the sun. There was a nice little cafe right on the shore in the little village, so we decided to stop for a coffee. Then, since it was such a nice spot, we were tempted to stop and have lunch there! In the afternoon we spent a couple of hours relaxing in the sun by the shore back at the hotel, then late afternoon we followed the coastal path in the other direction to the larger resort of Puerto del Carmen, and this was the shot I finally decided to go with, approaching Puerto del Carmen in the striking late afternoon light. We stopped at a cafe by the harbor and enjoyed a Sangria before exploring the town a bit more. After enjoying a lovely dinner there, we took a taxi back to our hotel.
