Ring-tailed Hen Harrier

Today I went to Parkgate on the Dee Estuary. It was the fourth day of high tides when the tide pushes birds and other creatures close to the shore so is good for close up bird watching. Saturday to Sunday the tides were really high but today it hardly moved so we saw very little. This is the third visit in a row that the predicted tide has failed to come in when I've been there, it must be my influence!
I was undecided which bird to go for, a decent shot of a common bird was tempting but decided on this distant ring-tailed hen harrier that was hunting over the marshes. The reason being that this beautiful bird is in serious decline and almost extinct in England due to persecution.
