For all the Remarkable Women!

Wet for our walk this morning so we reverted to walking around the St Ives Estate instead of the planned one in Cullingworth. It was brightening up by the time we got back but there were still heavy showers through the morning hence the rainbow. Taken from the front window it intrigued me that it only extended over the trees of the St Ives woods where we had been earlier and not up into the sky.

The label is on a little basket I received almost a year ago to the day. It was on my pillow when we returned to our riverside hotel in Bangkok on our journey home from New Zealand. It is just a small zip topped basket with the hotels name on but I really like the sentiment. ..' To a woman who makes a remarkable day'. On the other side it says 'Happy International Women's Day - March 8th'. The basket sits on my bedside table with a little pot of Tiger Balm inside that I bought from the floating market on the same visit.

I have just got back from participating in The Women's World Day of Payer service at the Congregational Church. The service was written by Christian women in Egypt.
It is such an amazing thought that women from all over the world have been participating in the same thing. Women of all different races and circumstances and so many women who would not have had the freedom to make the choice to do so.

There are women who ..'make a remarkable day' every day.
