Only Yew

This is a brilliant garden for hide and seek.

The hedge is part of the listed topiary garden at Billesley Manor in Warwickshire. It is over a hundred years old, but parts of the hedge are said to date back to the 17th Century.

Adjacent to the Manor is the 11th Century All Saints’ Church. Tradition has it that William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway here in 1582, and that his granddaughter’s wedding also took place at Billesley.

This is another place that I drive past several times a week, but decided to stop there today to get my blip in the gorgeous sunshine. I photographed the church and the grounds, which are both very pretty, but I just liked this hedge.
