Liberty

My cousin and I set off early from our hotel near Russell Square and walked, walked and then walked some more. We then bought plasters as her boots were quite new and a bit snug. We had a really good breakfast and then went to Fortnum & Mason and then on to my favourite shop Liberty via Savile Row and Regent Street.

After lunch and more walking via Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square and the Strand we went to see the "Duck House" at the Vaudeville Theatre - a play about the MPs expenses scandal. Script littered with political in-jokes. It was a rib tickler from curtain up. Lovely to be able to laugh out loud for a couple of hours.

Returned to the hotel exhausted. Great day. Sunny weather (enough to have a coffee outside).

No 1 son telephoned this evening. Unsolicited, which is always so much nicer. He seems happy and is enjoying his job. Good to talk to him. He liked my photograph of Bardsea; praise indeed.
