Green Grass

What a beautiful day it's been!
A bit of sunshine and blue sky does wonders for my mood.
Mr K wasn't working today so we took the Little Misses to school together and then drove to Milton Keynes.
We dropped the car of at a car wash and valet place - because you could no longer tell what colour it is and you could have grown potatoes underneath the Little Misses seats.......
Then we went and had a scrummy breakfast in John Lewis. Mr K had a full English and I was very good and had tomatoes, egg, mushrooms and wholemeal toast. And a pot of tea!
On the way to the restaurant we may have had a saunter round the Aveda, Clinique and Chanel counters. Just in case anyone needed ideas for birthday presents!
After we'd eaten and browsed for a bit I realised with horror that we only had half an hour to get back to the car and get to the venue of Miss E's schools choir festival. And we were about as far from our car as it is possible to get in Milton Keynes shopping centre!
Why, why, why do we end up rushing everywhere and getting to things by the skin of our teeth?!
But we got there and it was very sweet. We came second to a nearby school just like last year.
But as I said to Miss E it's the taking part that counts.
Blah, blah, blah!!!!
As we had an hour or so to kill before Miss E's swimming we headed to Costa. Another pot of tea for me while my lovely husband and daughter stuffed their faces with cake.
We bumped into Mrs L and Mrs J - a couple of mums from school - and I had a lovely half hour with them.
Then it was a rush to swimming, a rush to get Miss L from school, a rush to Tescos for milk and chicken drumsticks (the Little Misses' new favourite thing!) a rush back for dinner, jim-jams and sleepover chaos.
And now it's time for hot chocolate and The Good Wife. We know how to live!
